COURSE OVERVIEW
The Actors Studio Australia 1 Year Foundation Program is an intensive acting course for committed individuals seeking professional careers in film, television and theatre. The program is designed to lay the essential platform of skills and knowledge from which a professional acting career can be launched. Students successful in completing the program can expect to develop a strong command of core acting and performance techniques including improvisation, scripted performance and vocal production. In addition students will gain valuable experience in live theatre performance by working with a professional director to mount their major theatre production at the end of the year. The program is 1 year part time (14 hours per week) and is divided into five seven-week terms.
MAJOR PERFORMANCE
The Actors Studio Australia mounts stage productions directed by leading professional directors invited to work as guest directors with our students. Students in this course undertake a major theatre production in term 5 each year. The major production represents the culmination of the year's work and an opportunity utilise the skills developed across the arc of the program in a live performance environment. The major theatre productions show in The Actors Studio Australia theatre studio in November and December.
OUR APPROACH
The Actors' Studio Australia is the only school in Australia teaching an exclusive combination of techniques developed by international master teachers in the USA and Europe. Our groundbreaking program encompasses the work of legendary greats Meisner, Strasberg and Stanislavski as well as contemporary "gun" teachers from Los Angeles such as Ivana Chubbuck and Eric Morris.
